Privacy Policy

This policy explains how StormScroll handles personal information and how to contact us about your data.

1. Contact

2. Information we collect

• Account information: your email address, name, and profile image. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile image from Google; we never receive your Google password.
• A securely hashed version of your password, if you sign up with email and password. We never store the password itself.
• Reading data, such as the novels in your library and how far you have read.
• Billing status and transaction references from our payment provider, such as whether your subscription is active and its billing period. StormScroll does not store full card details.
• Messages and information you send when you request support or exercise a privacy right.
• Essential device, session, security, request, and error information, such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, needed to operate and protect the service.

3. How we use information

• Create, secure, and support your account and sign you in.
• Unlock the content your subscription includes.
• Save your library and reading progress.
• Process subscriptions, send receipts, account emails (such as verification and password reset), and service notices, and meet accounting or legal obligations.
• Diagnose failures, prevent abuse and fraud, and improve reliability.

4. Legal bases

Depending on your location and the activity, StormScroll processes information to perform the service you request, pursue legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, comply with legal obligations, or act on your consent. You may withdraw consent where consent is the applicable basis, without affecting earlier lawful processing.

5. Service providers and disclosure

StormScroll does not sell personal information. Limited information may be processed by providers needed to operate the service:

• Dodo Payments for checkout, subscriptions, tax, fraud screening, and payment records, as merchant of record.
• Cloudflare for hosting, content delivery, security, and database storage.
• Google for sign-in, only if you choose to sign in with Google.
• Our email delivery provider for account and billing emails.

Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate safeguards.

6. Storage, retention, and transfers

Your information may be stored and processed on infrastructure in other countries. We retain information while your account is active and as reasonably needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, secure the platform, and satisfy legal obligations such as tax and accounting records. Retention periods may differ by data type and provider.

7. Your choices and rights

Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or a portable copy of your personal information. Email privacy@stormscroll.com from the address connected to your account. We may ask for limited information to verify the request and aim to respond within 30 days. You can also manage your subscription at any time in Settings → Billing.

8. Cookies and browser storage

StormScroll currently uses essential session cookies and browser storage for sign-in, security, and interface preferences. Advertising and non-essential analytics cookies are not currently enabled. See the Cookie Policy for details.

9. Security, children, and changes

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect personal information, but no online system can be guaranteed completely secure. Do not send passwords, full card numbers, government IDs, or banking credentials through support email. StormScroll is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact privacy@stormscroll.com. We may update this policy as the service, providers, or legal requirements change and will identify material changes through the service or another reasonable notice.
